The\u00a0SNL50 Homecoming\u00a0Concert\u00a0<\/em>special streamed live on Peacock Friday from New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, and, like January’s FireAid benefit concert, it featured a surprise\u00a0Nirvana\u00a0<\/strong>reunion, only this time, it was fronted by Post Malone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Posty, who covered multiple Nirvana songs for a livestream he did in April 2020, took on the\u00a0role of the late\u00a0Kurt Cobain\u00a0<\/strong>while backed by surviving Nirvana members\u00a0Dave Grohl<\/strong>,\u00a0Krist Novoselic\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Pat Smear\u00a0<\/strong>and ripped through “Smells Like Teen Spirit<\/strong><\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Here are some other highlights of the concert:<\/p>\n

Lady Gaga<\/strong> played her Oscar-winning hit “Shallow” and then joined the Lonely Island<\/strong> for renditions of “D*** In a Box” and “Motherlover.”\u00a0 It was part of a Lonely Island medley that also included other artists — Bad Bunny<\/strong>, T-Pain<\/strong> and Eddie Vedder<\/strong> — performing more of the comedy collective’s greatest hits, such as “Jack Sparrow,” “I’m on a Boat” and “I Just Had Sex.”<\/p>\n

Jelly Roll<\/strong> performed three songs made famous by iconic country star Johnny Cash<\/strong>: “I Walk the Line,” “Folsom Prison Blues” and “Ring of Fire”<\/p>\n

Backstreet Boys<\/strong> performed their signature hit\u00a0 \u201cI Want It That Way<\/strong><\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ms. Lauryn Hill<\/strong>\u00a0teamed up with her Fugees<\/strong> bandmate Wyclef Jean<\/strong> to perform “Lost Ones,” “Ex-Factor,” “911” and “Killing Me Softly.”<\/p>\n

Miley Cyrus<\/strong> joined Brittany Howard <\/strong>of the band Alabama Shakes <\/strong>for a rendition of\u00a0Queen<\/strong>‘s “Crazy Little Thing Called Love<\/strong><\/a>,” as well as performing her #1 hit, “Flowers.”<\/p>\n

Cher\u00a0<\/strong>broke out her black unitard to perform her hit “If I Could Turn Back Time<\/strong><\/a>.”<\/p>\n

The B-52<\/strong>s got everyone dancing with their classic \u201cLove Shack,\u201d with a cameo by\u00a0SNL\u00a0<\/em>cast members\u00a0Bowen Yang\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Sarah Sherman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bonnie Raitt\u00a0<\/strong>performed her hit “Thing Called Love,” and then\u00a0Coldplay’<\/strong>s\u00a0Chris Martin\u00a0<\/strong>joined her on piano for her song “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”<\/p>\n
