Katy,\u00a0who was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2024\/10\/30\/jeff-bezos-and-lauren-sanchez-partied-with-katy-perry-in-europe-amid-post-crisis-reports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-mce-href=\"https:\/\/www.mercurynews.com\/2024\/10\/30\/jeff-bezos-and-lauren-sanchez-partied-with-katy-perry-in-europe-amid-post-crisis-reports\/\">seen\u00a0hanging out<\/a>\u00a0with<strong> Jeff Bezos<\/strong> and his fianc\u00e9e,\u00a0<strong>Lauren S\u00e1nchez <\/strong>several times\u00a0last year, is teaming up with the couple for an out-of-this-world trip to the stars.<\/p>\n<p>Katy and\u00a0S\u00e1nchez, along with <strong>Gayle King<\/strong> and three other women, will be heading into space this spring as part of Blue Origin&#8217;s New Shepard mission. It&#8217;ll be the 11th human flight for Bezos&#8217; company, and its first all-female crew. The experience will, according to a press release, &#8220;challenge their perspectives of Earth, empower them to share their own stories, and create lasting impact that will inspire generations to come.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In particular, Katy hopes that her journey &#8220;encourages her daughter and others to reach for the stars, literally and figuratively.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not clear how the flight will intersect with Katy&#8217;s Lifetimes Tour, which is set to start April 23 in Mexico and\u00a0 travel the world, wrapping up in November.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2025, ABC Audio.
