As the host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live<\/em> this weekend, Lady Gaga<\/strong> mentioned the elephant in the room right off the bat — and even brought up another elephant that some fans had likely forgotten about.<\/p>\n

In a self-mocking monologue, Gaga joked about the failure of her film\u00a0Joker: Folie \u00e0 Deux <\/em>extensively –– <\/em>but also mentioned the fact that she once collaborated with an artist who’s now in prison for sex trafficking, among other things.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so happy to be back at \u2018SNL.\u2019 The last time I hosted was in 2013. And every aspect of my performance aged amazingly,\u201d Gaga joked. “So there\u2019s no need to Google \u2018SNL<\/em> 2013 Lady Gaga featuring R. Kelly<\/strong>.\u2019 I won\u2019t bring it up!\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2013, Gaga and R. Kelly sang “Do What U Want,” from her album Artpop,<\/em>\u00a0on several shows, including SNL<\/em>. In 2019, after the release of the documentary Surviving R. Kelly<\/em>, she deleted the song from streaming services.<\/p>\n

As for the movie, Gaga said, “I\u2019ve been very diligent about selecting films that can showcase my craft as a serious actor … such as Joker 2<\/em>. Apparently people thought it was awesome.”\u00a0 Mentioning that she and co-star Joaquin Phoenix<\/strong> won a Razzie for “worst onscreen duo,” she added, “Joke\u2019s on them … my Razzie brings me one step closer to an EGORT. It\u2019s like an EGOT, but it\u2019s hurtful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gaga also appeared in every sketch<\/a> and filmed bit<\/a> except the cold open and Weekend Update<\/em>, and performed two songs from her new album Mayhem<\/em>: “Abracadabra<\/a>” and “Killah<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

She began the funky “Killah” in the hallways of 30 Rock<\/em>, where censors missed bleeping the s-word out of the lyrics. She then traveled through the audience and onto the stage, where dancers ripped off her purple outfit, revealing a sparkly red bodysuit underneath.<\/p>\n
