Maria Dolores Paintings to be Featured at Doña Ana Arts Council

The Arts Council is very excited to be exhibiting work by local artist Maria Dolores in the Staszewski Gallery during September.  Originally from New York City, Dolores has been a resident of Las Cruces for 37 years. She has been a part of the local art community since 1995 exploring watercolor, acrylic, and oil.  She is truly a lifelong learner of the arts attending classes in high school and studying with some of the best art teachers in the Mesilla Valley, including Sally Quillin, Fred Chilton, Joe Ireland, and Jan Archey.

“My passion lies in the continuous pursuit of subjects that excite my inner creativity,” said Dolores. “To create is to give of one’s self completely.”

Her work has been exhibited multiple times at the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library and Cutter Gallery, and it can be found in private collections across the country. She has previously been a Las Cruces Arts Association member, participated in the Open Doors Art Auction & Benefit for Jardin de los Niños, and showed her work in the 2019 Holiday Pop-up Art Show.
