{"id":108413,"date":"2025-01-07T18:03:41","date_gmt":"2025-01-07T18:03:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/newstalklc\/man-arrested-for-making-violent-antisemitic-threats-online-police\/"},"modified":"2025-01-07T18:03:41","modified_gmt":"2025-01-07T18:03:41","slug":"man-arrested-for-making-violent-antisemitic-threats-online-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/newstalklc\/man-arrested-for-making-violent-antisemitic-threats-online-police\/","title":{"rendered":"Man arrested for making violent antisemitic threats online: Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2025-01-07\/news_Mass_010725.jpg\" alt><figcaption>Beverly Police Department<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>(BEVERLY, Mass.) &#8212; A Massachusetts man has been arrested after police said he made violent antisemitic posts online.<\/p>\n<p>Matthew Scouras, 34, allegedly &#8220;posted threats to rape Jewish women and encouraged other users of the site to shoot people outside of synagogues,&#8221; according to the Beverly Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the FBI notified them Thursday of the threats posted to an online message board.<\/p>\n<p>A search of Scouras&#8217; home turned up a Nazi flag, a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/ghost-guns-after-killing-unitedhealthcare-ceo\/story?id=116637337\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ghost gun<\/a>, six boxes of ammunition, other firearm parts and over $70,000 in cash, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Scouras was taken into custody Saturday and held for a mental health evaluation, police said.<\/p>\n<p>He was arraigned Monday and is being held without bail pending a court hearing on Jan. 13.<\/p>\n<p>Scouras has been charged with making threats to destroy a place of worship.<\/p>\n<p>He also faces numerous gun charges, including 12 counts for possession of a firearm without a license and making a firearm without a serial number.<\/p>\n<p>It was not immediately clear if he has retained an attorney.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2025, ABC Audio.
