LAS CRUCES \u2014 The Do\u00f1a Ana County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution Tuesday, April 14, during a regular meeting at the Do\u00f1a Ana County Government Center directing county staff and two commissioners to obtain additional information related to the proposed Project Jupiter development in Santa Teresa, New Mexico.<\/p>\n

Commissioners amended the resolution during discussion to specify that two commissioners would work with county staff to gather clarification from project representatives and report their findings back to the full board at a future meeting. Officials said the action is intended to ensure transparency and provide accurate information to residents regarding the project\u2019s potential impact on local water resources and infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The meeting drew significant public participation, with many residents expressing concerns about water availability, environmental impacts, and long-term sustainability tied to the large-scale data center project planned for the Santa Teresa area. Several speakers referenced estimates about possible water usage and urged county leaders to proceed cautiously as additional details are reviewed.<\/p>\n

During public comment, some residents suggested that county officials consider holding future outreach meetings in surrounding communities to allow more residents to ask questions and receive updates about the project.<\/p>\n
