The Citizens for Nonpartisan Civic Engagement & The Las Cruces Channel Present The 2020 Candidate Forums

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to find new and creative ways to bring community and candidates together. We have put together a candidate forum to be streamed live via Facebook, YouTube and Twitter under the Las Cruces Channel.

This gives citizens the opportunity to hear what our candidates have to say, as well as ask questions during the Facebook live stream. The safety of all our participants is paramount. During our last live-streamed candidate forum, Senator Cervantes (District 31) stated the impeccable measures we have taken to ensure we are following the public health order. He stated “In this room, we’re acting like adults. We have plastic barriers in between us; we’re exercising social distancing; we brought our masks.”

These candidate forums are held every Monday and Wednesday from 7 pm-8 pm up until the election. Join us this week, Monday, September 28th, as we bring the candidates for State Representative District 31, Representative Joanne Ferrary and Commissioner Isabella Solis and, Wednesday, September 30th, for the County Clerks Race with County Clerk Amanda Lopez Askin and candidate Cheryl DeYoung. These forums will be hosted by our moderator Arturo Uribe and there will two commentators for each forum. We appreciate your support.

Sponsored and brought to you by Mesilla Valley Transportation, Southwest Organizing Project (SWOP) and Las Cruces Channel Network.
