Traffic Report for week of February 20 to 27, 2022

 

In all construction zones, motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, as well as continue to be cautious of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the area. PLEASE NOTE: Conditions are subject to change without notice. Double fines for speeding in work zones may be in effect.

Interstates:

I-10, Mile Marker 116 to 139, Las Cruces

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District One will be continuing Fog Sealing I-10 from Las Cruces towards Deming. Drivers can expect lane closures westbound beginning at milepost 139 (Motel Blvd/ NM 292) to 116 (NM 549). One lane of traffic will remain open, off and on ramps will be close temporarily. Speed limits will be reduced.

 

I-25, Mile Marker 34 to 39, RinconCN1101021

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) is continuing with the roadway reconstruction project on I-25 north of Las Cruces. All traffic has been shifted into the northbound bound lanes utilizing crossover detour and barrier wall separation so southbound construction can begin. The southbound Rincon on and off ramps will be closed, follow detour signage. This closure is expected until summer 2022. Hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control will remain in place 24/7.

 

I-25, Mile Marker 117, North of Truth or Consequences CN1101580

Hasse Contracting Co. will be making repairs to the bridge on I-25 at milepost 117. Traffic can expect lane closures on I-25 on both the southbound and northbound lanes until the bridge deck repairs are complete, one lane will remain open. Contractor working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., traffic control will remain in place 24/7. Use caution for workers and equipment in the area. Repairs are expected to be completed by summer 2022.

 

I-10, Mile Marker 21 to 23, Lordsburg

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is currently building the bridge deck on the westbound lanes. All interstate traffic is rerouted to the eastbound I-10 lanes as the contractor completes construction of the westbound I-10 bridge. Detour signs will be in place to direct traffic towards alternate routes. Beginning Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, Main Street will be closed at 7 a.m. for bridge deck placement. Interstate traffic will not be allowed to utilize the on and off ramps at exit 22. Detour signs will be in place directing traffic towards alternate routes. Roadway is expected to be reopened by 6:00 p.m. Daily hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control will remain in place 24/7.

 

I-10, Mile Marker 24.9 to 35, LordsburgCN1101600

Mountain States Construction, Inc. (Contractor) will be finalizing a pavement preservation project on I-10 from milepost 24.9 (Lordsburg East) to milepost 35. If needed drivers can expect lane closures on both the eastbound and westbound lanes as needed. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 

I-10, Mile Marker 15 to 20, LordsburgCN1101620

Mountain States Construction, Inc. (Contractor) will be beginning a pavement rehabilitation and reconstruction project on I-10 from milepost 20 (Lordsburg West) to milepost 15 (Gary). Beginning Monday, February 21, 2022, drivers can expect various daytime lane closures on both the eastbound and westbound lanes as needed.

Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. This preservation project was awarded in the amount if $8 million and is expected to take 90 working days to complete.

 

US Roadways:

US 70, Mile Marker 166-168, Las Cruces/San Augustine Pass

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing roadway repairs due to flooding on US 70 from milepost 170 to 168. Lane closures will be in place on the eastbound and westbound passing lanes as needed, speed limits will be reduced to 45 mph. Closures will be in place Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 pm until Feb. 28, 2022.

 

State Roadways:

NM 140, Mile Marker 0 to 1, Rincon CN1101580

Hasse Contracting Co. (Contractor) will be continuing the Bridge Preservation projects in Southwest, NM. NM 140 is closed from milepost 0 to 1, a detour is in place. Contractor working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Use caution for workers and equipment in the area. Bridge is expected to be closed until March 30, 2022.

 

NM 273 Mile Marker 2, Sunland Park

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing roadway repairs on NM 273 “McNutt Road” at milepost 2. The driving right lane is expected to be closed through May 2022. Motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and be cautious of personnel and equipment in the area.

 

NM 404 and I-10 Bridge Replacement, Anthony E100202

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is continuing with roadwork and replacement of the NM 404 Bridge over I-10 at milepost 162, Anthony exit. Traffic is currently using new bridge as Contractor constructs the other half of the bridge. Please follow detour signage in the area, expect delays. Traffic is open to one lane in each direction. Daily contractor hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Traffic control will remain in place 24/7.

 

 

City of Las Cruces Projects:

Peachtree Hills Road

Peachtree Hills Road between Sonoma Ranch Boulevard and Metro Park Street has been opened to two-way traffic. Temporary traffic control and lane merges in the roadway alignment remain in place. Motorist are urged to obey all placed warning signs.
