Traffic Report for week of May 1 to 8, 2022

 

In all construction zones, motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, as well as continue to be cautious of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the area. PLEASE NOTE: Conditions are subject to change without notice. Double fines for speeding in work zones may be in effect.

Interstates:

I-25, Mile Marker 34 to 39, RinconCN1101021

Mountain States Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) is continuing with the roadway reconstruction project on I-25 north of Las Cruces. All traffic has been shifted into the northbound lanes utilizing crossover detour and barrier wall separation so southbound construction can begin. The southbound Rincon on and off ramps will be closed, follow detour signage. This closure is expected until summer 2022. Hours of operation will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Traffic control will remain in place 24/7.

 

I-25, Mile Marker 106, North of T or C

Wood Environmental (Contractor) will be taking core samples near Nogal Canyon on the northbound lanes. A lane closure will be in place from Monday, May 2 to Friday, May 6, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Speed limit will be reduced to 55 miles per hour. Use caution for equipment and employees in the area.

 

I-25, Mile Marker 14 to 24, North of Las Cruces CN1101610

Mesa Verde Enterprises, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing a roadway reconstruction project on Interstate 25 from milepost 14 to 24, just north of Las Cruces. Crews will be working in the northbound and southbound right driving lanes. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

 

I-25, Mile Marker 117 & 121, North of Truth or Consequences CN1101580

Hasse Contracting Co. will be making repairs to the bridges on I-25 at milepost 117 and milepost 121. Traffic can expect lane closures on I-25 on the southbound lanes until the bridge deck repairs are complete, one lane will remain open. Contractor working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., traffic control will remain in place 24/7. Use caution for workers and equipment in the area. Repairs are expected to be completed by summer 2022.

 

I-10, Mile Marker 24.9 to 35, LordsburgCN1101600

Mountain States Construction, Inc. (Contractor) will be completing the project on I-10 from milepost 24.9 (Lordsburg East) to milepost 35. San Bar will be placing pavement markings throughout the project, lane closures will be in place if needed. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed May 2022.

 

I-10, Mile Marker 21 to 23, Lordsburg1101560R

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) will begin finalizing the roadway reconstruction and bridge replacement project in Lordsburg. Traffic is rerouted onto the eastbound and westbound lanes; all closures have been removed. Contractor is currently placing seeding and sealing concrete joints. Contractor hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 

I-10, Mile Marker 15 to 20, LordsburgCN1101620

Mountain States Construction, Inc. (Contractor) will be finalizing the reconstruction project on I-10 from milepost 20 (Lordsburg West) to milepost 15 (Gary). Drivers can expect lane closures on both the eastbound and westbound lanes as needed for the placement of Rubberized Open Graded Friction Course (ROGFC) which is a pavement

sealant. Contractor will be continuing with replacing guardrail and concrete wall barrier along the project. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 

US Roadways:

US 180, Mile Marker 47 to 67, Glenwood

Dustrol, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing a Hot-In-Place Recycling project along US 180 near Glenwood, NM. Traffic can expect lane closures beginning at milepost 47 (Catron Co. Line) working south to milepost 67 (US 180 & NM 78 intersection). A pilot car operation will be in place, please reduce your speed and obey traffic control devices. This project has a 12-foot width restriction. Work will take place daily from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Construction is expected to take 13 days to complete, weather pending.

 

US 60, at Mile Marker 108 and 112, Magdalena

Hasse Contracting Co. (Contractor) will be continuing with Bridge Preservation projects in Southwest, NM. Bridges located on US 60 west of Magdalena at milepost 108 and in the town of Magdalena at milepost 112. This preservation project is expected to be complete by the end of April. Contractor working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Use caution for workers and equipment in the area.

 

State Roadways:

NM 136, Mike Marker 7.5, Santa Teresa

Rt Electric (Contractor) will be installing a new traffic signal at the intersection of NM 136 “Pete Domenici Blvd” and Russell Blvd. Contractors working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. This project is expected to be completed by June 3, 2022.

 

NM 187, Mike Marker 1.3 to 9, from Hatch to Garfield

Sacred Wind Communications (Contractor) will have shoulder work in place on NM 187 from milepost 1.3 to 9 for Utility work. Contractors working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This project is expected to be completed by June 2, 2022.

 

NM 28, Mile Marker 26 to 27, San Pablo

Smith & Aguirre Construction Co. (Contractor) will be continuing roadwork along NM 28 near the Craver Rd intersection. Crews will be widening NM 28 and adding in a turning lane at this intersection. Speed limit will be reduced to 35 miles per hour. Working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Project is estimated to be completed on June 3, 2022.

 

NM 169, Mile Marker 5, Magdalena

Hasse Contracting Co. (Contractor) will have lane closures in place on NM 169 near milepost 5 for bridge repairs. Traffic can expect lane closures and unmanned traffic stopping devices. Contractor working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. This closure is estimated to be in place for two weeks reopening on or about May 7, 2022.

 

NM 11, Mile Marker 34 to 5, Deming to Columbus

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has completed Fog Sealing operations on NM 11. Striping is scheduled to take place in the next few weeks, use caution for no center line and continue with reduced speeds.

 

NM 140, Mile Marker 0 to 1, Rincon CN1101580

Hasse Contracting Co. (Contractor) will be continuing a Bridge Preservation projects on NM 140. NM 140 is closed from milepost 0 to 1, a detour is in place. Contractor working hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Use caution for workers and equipment in the area. Bridge is expected to be closed until May 13, 2022.

 

NM 273 Mile Marker 2, Sunland Park

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has a lane closure in place for the City of Sunland Park due to required roadway repairs on NM 273 “McNutt Road” at milepost 2. The driving right lane is expected to be closed through May 2022. Motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and be cautious of personnel and equipment in the area.

 

NM 404 and I-10 Bridge Replacement, Anthony E100202

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is continuing with roadwork and replacement of the NM 404 Bridge over I-10 at milepost 162, Anthony exit. Traffic is currently using new bridge as Contractor constructs the other half of the bridge. Please

follow detour signage in the area, expect delays. Traffic is open to one lane in each direction. Contractor hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Traffic control will remain in place 24/7.

 

Frontage Road 1035 “Stern Drive” Mile Marker 4 to 6, Las Cruces

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will have lane closures and shoulder work in place for erosion control measures along Stern Dr. from milepost 4 to 6. A flagging operation will be in place. Motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and be cautious of personnel and equipment in the area.

 

City of Las Cruces Projects:

Peachtree Hills Road

Peachtree Hills Road between Sonoma Ranch Boulevard and Metro Park Street has been opened to two-way traffic. Temporary traffic control and lane merges in the roadway alignment remain in place. Motorist are urged to obey all placed warning signs.

 

Magdalena Drive

Magdalena Drive is scheduled to undergo roadway improvements by Caliper Construction Company, Inc. as part of the Magdalena Pond Repair Project. The following lane closure will be in place. Traffic on Magdalena Dr. has been shifted to the east, with two lanes of traffic opened southbound and northbound. Crews are working on the shoulder of Magdalena Dr. between the San Miguel Ct. and Borroughs. This lane closure is estimated to last approximately 9 weeks depending on weather conditions. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., two-way traffic will be maintained.
