Doña Ana Community College (DACC) is offering two opportunities for individuals to take an advanced photography workshop.
The workshops are credit courses for those who are interested in furthering their skills in photography. The workshops will be taught by award-winning documentary and editorial photographer Paul Ratje. “To learn from Paul Ratje is an exceptional opportunity for anyone hoping to advance their photography skills,” says Matt Byrnes, ARTS dept. chair. “Ratje is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters and other publications.”
The first workshop will be held from October 15th to November 7th. It is a crash course in Adobe Lightroom and will cover an introduction in using modules of Lightroom Classic for importing, editing, processing and exporting images as a final product.
The second workshop will be held from November 1st through December 12th in environmental portraiture. This course will assist photographers in developing skills and techniques for creating masterful environmental portraits worthy of being published in magazines or online. This course will help students know their subjects and be able to tell their stories in creative and natural ways.
To take these courses, you must be enrolled as a DACC student. Register for DACC through the New Mexico State University website at New Mexico State University Admission Application. For more information on these workshops, please contact the Creative Media Technology program at (575) 528-7310.
