A team of two Doña Ana Community College (DACC) students brought home silver medal awards from the national SkillsUSA championship last month in Atlanta, Georgia.
Samiel Thai and Thomas Tucker both placed second in the nation for Cybersecurity earning a silver medal. DACC had eight students qualify for the national competition with five of them placing in the top ten in the country. Three students also served in the prestigious Courtesy Corps, a volunteer team that helps power the conference. One student, Evelina Juarez, also earned a prestigious Letter of Distinction for her category in Job Demonstration.
SkillsUSA is a national organization that empowers students to become world-class workers, leaders, and responsible citizens by providing training, competitions, and leadership opportunities in career and technical education.
