Chief Jeremy Story and the Las Cruces Police Department will host a unique town hall meeting on Wednesday, July 16, with multiple breakout sessions that will allow participants to interact with LCPD section and team leaders.
The town hall meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the Las Cruces Home Builder’s Association, 2825 N. Main St. The meeting is expected to last about two hours.
The unique format of this town hall meeting, with multiple breakout sessions, will encourage an open dialogue between participants and the leaders of LCPD sections such as Internal Affairs, Criminal Investigations, Recruiting and Training, Patrol, Traffic and Community Outreach.
Chief Story will open the town hall meeting with news and quarterly crime statistics. Attendees will then be encouraged to select one of the breakout sessions, learn about that section and interact with team leaders and other participants.
After about 30 minutes of discussion, attendees will then be given the opportunity to switch tables and interact with another section.
LCPD personnel will be taking notes and accepting suggestions during the breakout sessions. Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with LCPD command staff.
The meeting will not be televised or livestreamed. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
