Casa de Peregrinos or “House of Pilgrims” operates as an emergency food pantry that focuses on serving Doña Ana county, with a main location on W. Amador Ave in Las Cruces. Donations are strong during the holiday season, but seem to drop off as the winter shifts into the spring. “Giving is extremely strong during the holidays and can decline during spring and summer, the time when we most need the support,” said Kay Carter, CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank. That’s why the Bravo Mic Family of radio stations is stepping up in these challenging times with the 2023 Pack the Pantry Campaign presented by Viva Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat of Las Cruces!

“Although we and our clients are grateful for whatever food you can give, people needing food assistance particularly appreciate the following: canned meats and vegetables (particularly tomatoes), beans, and soups; canned fruits and juices; peanut butter; dry cereal; pasta; rice and pinto beans; dry milk; baby food; fresh veggies and fruit; milk, eggs, cheese; healthy kid snacks; and no-cook foods for homeless clients.”
This year, we’re also looking to collect hygiene products, such as soap and shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, etc.
