LAS CRUCES—Are you ready to add a furry friend to your family and home? Now is the time to adopt one of the many animals awaiting a home. ACTion Programs for Animals (APA) is hosting its annual Home for the Holidays Adoption Special, during which all adoptions are half-off. The promotion began Saturday, Dec. 7, and runs through Saturday, Jan. 4.
“The holiday season is a great time to bring home a new furry family member, because people have more time at home before getting back to work after the new year,” said APA’s Executive Director Michel Meunier. “We also offer a sleepover program so people can take an animal home for a week or two before making their final adoption decision.”
APA has many cats, kittens and trained dogs from its P.A.W.S. (Prisoners and Animals Working Toward Success) program available for adoption, and all are half-off to adopt during the Home for the Holidays Adoption Special.
Anyone interested in meeting the adoptable animals may visit the APA Adoption Center, located at 537 N. Solano Dr., from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Appointments may also be made by calling 575-571-4654 or emailing mail@apalascruces.org. Please note that the adoption center will be closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1.

About ACTion Programs for Animals
APA offers lifesaving programs and services to rescue at-risk companion animals in Doña Ana County and supports people and their pets in living healthy and happy lives together. We envision a time when all companion animals in our community are valued and treated with respect and kindness. Since May 2012, APA has rescued more than 6,300 animals.
