Doña Ana Community College (DACC)’s new Creative Media Technology (CMT) building is now open to students for fall classes.
The building, at 2400 Film Street, is located on the Arrowhead Park campus at New Mexico State University (NMSU), just south of the Burrell College of Medicine. The building is currently open to students enrolled in the CMT program, with a ribbon-cutting event scheduled for October 25th. Tours of the CMT facility for the media and the public will be held on that date.
DACC fall classes begin Wednesday, August 21st. No parking permits are needed for students who attend classes.
This state-of-the-art facility built by DACC is the first building completed as part of an eight-year project of the Las Cruces Creative Campus. This campus is a collaboration of film and media educational facilities which will also include the New Mexico Media Arts Collective, NMSU’s Creative Media Institute and KRWG-TV.
“This building and our program are designed to enhance learning experience and provide students with the best resources for creative endeavors,” says Matthew Byrnes, DACC Arts department chair. The building is 14,000 square feet with a traditional soundstage, a motion capture studio, flex classrooms, and specialized classrooms for graphic and web design, virtual reality, animation and cinematography.
