Doña Ana Community College (DACC) is hosting a free diabetes screening event for the public and DACC students and staff.
The event will be held today, November 14th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Espina campus, 3400 S. Espina, inside Alex Sanchez Hall, room 88. There will be free diabetes screenings and A1C testing, as well as information on diabetes prevention. Testing and screenings will be done in a private area to ensure the privacy and comfort of attendees.
According to the American Diabetes Association, more than 217,000 adults in New Mexico are living with diabetes, with around 9,800 adults diagnosed each year.
