LAS CRUCES – Voters across Doña Ana County are already showing interest in the 2026 election cycle, with more than 6,600 absentee ballot requests recorded in the county.
According to absentee ballot request data dated May 23, Doña Ana County had 6,614 total absentee ballot requests.
The county total includes 4,424 requests from registered Democrats, 1,043 from registered Republicans, 838 from voters registered as decline-to-state, and 309 from voters registered with other parties.
Doña Ana County includes Las Cruces, Mesilla, Anthony, Hatch, Sunland Park, Santa Teresa, Chaparral, Vado, La Mesa and other communities throughout the county.
Statewide, the report showed 69,069 absentee ballot requests across New Mexico. Of those, 46,171 were from registered Democrats, 15,818 from registered Republicans, 6,491 from decline-to-state voters, and 589 from voters registered with other parties.
Voters are encouraged to check with the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office or the New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office for official election deadlines, absentee ballot information and voting locations.
