This week is Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week, and Doña Ana Community College (DACC) is proud to recognize its students and staff who are part of our EMS Program.

EMS Week is being celebrated May 17th-23rd and was authorized in 1974 by President Gerald Ford. According to emsweek.org, the event was created to celebrate EMS professionals and the important work they do in our nation’s communities.

DACC’s EMS Program offers four certificates and an associate’s degree. The program is accredited by the Committee on Accreditation on Education for the EMS Professions.

“At DACC, we are proud to educate and support the next generation of EMS providers who continue this important tradition of excellence and service,” says Nicole Marcak, DACC EMS advisor. “We also extend our sincere appreciation to our students, faculty, clinical partners, preceptors, and local EMS agencies for their ongoing contributions to emergency medical care in our region.”

EMS professionals serve on the front lines of healthcare, responding to emergencies, providing lifesaving care, and supporting our communities during some of their most difficult moments.
