LAS CRUCES – The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office will conduct sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols throughout August as part of an effort to reduce crashes, injuries and deaths related to impaired driving.
The DWI enforcement project will continue through the entire month, with checkpoints planned at undisclosed locations throughout Doña Ana County.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, checkpoints will be conducted between noon and 2 a.m. Deputies will be watching for all traffic violations, with an emphasis on identifying drivers who may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Saturation patrols will also be conducted during the month, placing additional deputies on county roadways to enforce traffic laws and identify impaired drivers.
The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office is reminding motorists to drive responsibly and help keep county roadways safe for everyone.
