LAS CRUCES – A Belen woman is facing a second-degree murder charge after authorities said she allegedly ran over her boyfriend with an RV in Valencia County.

According to KOB-TV in Albuquerque, Valencia County deputies arrested and charged 45-year-old Dejohni Orndorff in the death of Gerald Marquez. Deputies said the incident happened the day before Mother’s Day, after Orndorff and Marquez allegedly got into an argument.

Court documents said Orndorff allegedly accelerated into Marquez with the RV.

Another family is also speaking out because Orndorff was previously accused in a fatal 2014 case. In that case, Orndorff ran over 16-year-old Tanner Woolley while driving under the influence. She later pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 180 days, with credit for time served.

Family members of both victims said they are hoping for a different outcome in the current case.

Orndorff is expected back in court May 14.

All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
