LAS CRUCES — Doña Ana County voters are already participating in the 2026 Primary Election, with newly released voter count reports showing the county among the top in New Mexico for absentee ballot requests and early voting.

As of the May 11 report, Doña Ana County had 6,404 absentee ballot requests. That includes 4,015 Democratic requests, 935 Republican requests, 945 Decline to State requests and 509 listed as other.

The county also reported 908 ballots already cast. Of those, 617 were Democratic ballots, 198 were Republican ballots and 93 were Decline to State ballots.

The report also shows nine same-day registrations in Doña Ana County.

Statewide, early in-person voting for New Mexico’s June 2 Primary Election began May 5. Expanded early voting begins May 16, and early voting ends May 30. Election Day is Tuesday, June 2.
