LAS CRUCES – Polls are open today across Doña Ana County and throughout New Mexico as voters cast ballots in the 2026 Primary Election.
Election Day voting continues until 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 2. Doña Ana County election officials say 42 voting locations are open across the county. Voters can find polling places, review registration information and view sample ballots through NMVote.org or by contacting the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office.
This year’s primary includes federal, statewide, district, judicial and local county races. Individual ballots vary by political party, precinct and district.
Under New Mexico’s semi-open primary system, voters registered with a major party may vote that party’s ballot. Voters who are not affiliated with a major or minor party may choose a major party ballot for the primary without changing their voter registration.
On the Democratic ballot for United States senator, voters will see Ben R. Lujan and Matt Dodson. On the Republican side, Larry E. Marker is listed as a qualified write-in candidate.
For United States representative in Congressional District 2, Gabriel Vasquez is listed as the qualified Democratic candidate. Republican voters will choose between Gregory G. Cunningham and Jose Orozco.
The governor’s race includes Deb Haaland and Sam Bregman on the Democratic ballot. Republican voters will choose among Greggory D. Hull, Doug W. Turner and Duke Rodriguez.
For lieutenant governor, Democratic voters will see Maggie Toulouse Oliver and Harold James Pope, Jr. Republican voters will see David M. Gallegos, Manuel “Manny” Lardizabal and Aubrey Blair Dunn.
The Democratic primary for secretary of state includes Katharine E. Clark and Amanda López Askin. Ramona L. Goolsby is listed as the Republican candidate for secretary of state.
For attorney general, Democratic voters will see Raul Torrez, while Republican voters will see Samuel Isaiah Kane, Sr.
For state auditor, Joseph M. Maestas is listed on the Democratic ballot, and Joshua James Ryan Lawrence is listed as a qualified Republican write-in candidate. For state treasurer, Laura M. Montoya is listed for Democrats, and James F. Ellison is listed as a qualified Republican write-in candidate.
The Democratic primary for commissioner of public lands includes Juan De Jesus Sanchez, III, Matthew McQueen and Jonas Moya. Michael Jack Perry appears on the Republican ballot.
For New Mexico Court of Appeals Position 1, Kris Houghton is listed as a Democratic candidate.
In Public Education Commission District 7, Frederick Walton Parker is listed as the Democratic candidate, while John Foreman is listed as the Republican candidate.
Doña Ana County voters may also see state representative races, depending on where they live.
In State Representative District 33, Democratic voters will choose between Ramona J. Martinez and Micaela Lara Cadena. Enrique “Kiki” Vigil is listed as the Republican candidate.
In State Representative District 34, Democratic voters will choose between Raymundo Lara and Juan A. Fuentes.
In State Representative District 35, Angelica Rubio is listed as the Democratic candidate.
In State Representative District 36, Nathan P. Small is listed as the Democratic candidate, while Julia E. Ruiz is listed as the Republican candidate.
In State Representative District 37, Democratic voters will choose between Lori A. Martinez and Matilda McCarthy Villalobos. Isabella Solis is listed as the Republican candidate.
In State Representative District 38, David L. Mooney is listed as a qualified Democratic write-in candidate. Rebecca Dow is listed as the Republican candidate.
In State Representative District 52, Doreen Yvonne Gallegos is listed as the Democratic candidate.
In State Representative District 53, Sarah Angelina Silva is listed as the Democratic candidate. Ben Luna, Jr. is listed as the Republican candidate.
A Third Judicial District Court race also appears on the Democratic ballot. For Division 4, Democratic voters will choose between Isabel D. Jerabek and Dania R. Gardea.
Several Doña Ana County races are also on primary ballots.
For Doña Ana County Commission District 1, Democratic voters will choose between Angela Rowe Garcia and Daisy Ann Maldonado. Samantha R. Barncastle Salopek is listed as the Republican candidate.
For Doña Ana County Commission District 3, Willie D. Madrid is listed as the Democratic candidate.
The Doña Ana County sheriff’s race includes a large field of candidates. Democratic voters will choose among Gabriela H. Lozano, Jon R. Day, Rafael Reyes, Jr., James A. Frietze, Ricardo Segovia, Eugene Charles Alvarez and Vanessa Ordoñez. Republican voters will choose among Gabriel Lee Baisas, Todd J. Garrison, Byron N. Hollister and Jaime Marquez Quezada.
For Doña Ana County assessor, Democratic voters will choose among Ruben Ramon Reyes, Shannon Dale Reynolds and Eugenia Montoya Ortega.
For Doña Ana County probate judge, Judith Ann Baca is listed as the Democratic candidate.

Unofficial election results are expected to become available after polls close at 7 p.m.
