Las Cruces native Karlos Saucedo has been nominated for Best New Male Artist at the Tejano Music Awards

LAS CRUCES – Las Cruces Parks and Recreation Department is inviting families to celebrate Mother’s Day with a free live music concert in downtown Las Cruces next month.

City officials announced the event will take place at 5 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Plaza de Las Cruces, where the community can enjoy an evening of music, dancing and family-friendly entertainment. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and gather with loved ones to mark the holiday. Food trucks will also be on site during the event.

The concert will feature Karlos Saucedo y Grupo Éxito, a Tejano music group gaining recognition across the region. Las Cruces native Karlos Saucedo has been nominated for Best New Male Artist at the Tejano Music Awards and has performed alongside established artists such as Bobby Pulido and Little Joe y La Familia. Grupo Éxito, formed in 1992, has shared the stage with Tejano performers including La Mafia, Rubén Ramos and Elida y Avante. Officials say the collaboration between Saucedo and Grupo Éxito since 2025 has helped grow their presence in the Tejano music scene.

City officials noted the free Mother’s Day concert will serve as the kickoff to the City’s summer live music lineup. Upcoming events include the Mayor’s Jazz Fest scheduled for May 24, followed by the annual Music in the Park Series beginning Memorial Day weekend and continuing through August.

The event is open to the public and designed to provide a festive way for families to celebrate Mother’s Day while enjoying live entertainment in the heart of downtown Las Cruces.
