LAS CRUCES/EL PASO – Fans from across the Borderland and around the world gathered in El Paso Saturday as global K-pop sensation BTS kicked off the first of two highly anticipated concerts at Sun Bowl Stadium.

The performances mark one of the largest entertainment events to take place in the region this year, drawing tens of thousands of fans to the stadium, which seats approximately 45,000 people. Local officials and tourism leaders expected significant economic impact from the weekend concerts, with hotels, restaurants and retail businesses seeing increased activity.

Concertgoers began arriving early Saturday, many traveling from other states and from Mexico to attend the show. Fans lined up outside the stadium hours before gates opened, some wearing themed clothing and carrying merchandise tied to the group’s international tours.

Ticket prices for the concerts varied widely depending on seating location. Entry-level seats were available for under $100, while premium and VIP packages ranged into the hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Despite the cost, both shows generated strong demand, reflecting the group’s global popularity.

City and university officials coordinated traffic control, parking and security operations around the stadium to manage the large crowds. Visitors were advised to follow posted parking guidelines and stadium policies regarding bag size and entry procedures.

A second performance by BTS is scheduled for Sunday evening at the Sun Bowl, continuing a weekend expected to bring thousands of visitors to the Borderland.

The concerts highlight El Paso’s growing role as a regional destination for major touring acts, capable of drawing audiences from across the Southwest and northern Mexico.
