LAS CRUCES – Motorists traveling through the Las Cruces area should expect continuing lane closures, reduced speed limits and possible delays on Interstate 25 during the week of Aug. 23 through Aug. 30.

A guardrail and concrete barrier wall project continues on I-25 from Las Cruces to just north of Doña Ana, between mile markers 6 and 14.2. Lane closures and traffic control will remain in place around the clock in both directions as crews remove and replace guardrails and install concrete barrier wall. Construction work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Drivers heading north toward Truth or Consequences may also encounter lane closures on I-25 between mile markers 70 and 85 near Cuchillo. Crews are performing guardrail work, milling and paving as part of a roadway reconstruction project. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with possible weekend work.

In Anthony, roadway maintenance is planned on NM 460 between mile markers 0 and 1. Intermittent lane closures may occur Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. until about 3:30 p.m.

Motorists are urged to slow down, obey posted signs and remain alert for construction workers, heavy equipment and changing traffic conditions. Double fines for speeding in work zones may be in effect.
