LAS CRUCES – Las Cruces firefighters assisted Doña Ana County fire crews with a residential structure fire late Wednesday evening on MacArthur Road.
According to Las Cruces Fire Department officials, firefighters were requested to provide mutual aid to county fire crews just before midnight Wednesday, May 13, in the 7100 block of MacArthur Road.
Officials said two Las Cruces fire engines and a battalion chief responded to assist county units after a mobile home was found heavily engulfed in flames when crews arrived.
County fire crews arrived and quickly extinguished the bulk of the fire. Las Cruces and county firefighters remained on scene for an extended period, working on overhaul operations and conducting a thorough secondary search of the affected structure.
County fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire in conjunction with the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department.
No injuries were reported in the information released.
