LAS CRUCES – The City of Las Cruces is accepting applications for two volunteer positions on its Oversight Committee. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. September 30, 2026.
The vacancies are for residents with a professional management or business background and residents with a law enforcement or legal background.
The three-member committee advises city management on internal audits and inspector general activities. Its work supports efforts to improve city operations, promote efficiency, and identify and deter waste, fraud and abuse of government resources.
Members may recommend priorities and potential areas for audits or investigations and offer advice on technical issues. The committee is a management advisory group, not a public board.
Applicants must live within the city and cannot be city employees or have a direct contractual relationship with the city. Voting members also cannot serve on other city boards, commissions or task forces.
Members serve staggered three-year terms beginning October 1. The committee generally meets monthly, with additional meetings possible. Service is unpaid.
Applications are available through the city’s Oversight Committee application page.
For additional information, contact the City Clerk’s Office at 575-541-2115 or email crivera@lascruces.gov.
