LAS CRUCES — Most City of Las Cruces offices will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of the 2026 Memorial Day holiday.
Emergency services, including police and fire, will continue to operate as usual.
City offices and facilities closed for Memorial Day include all Las Cruces libraries and branches, all museums, Senior Programs facilities and services, Visit Las Cruces, all transit operations and facilities, A Fielder Memorial Safe Haven, City Hall, Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center, Rio Grande Theatre, Youth Development and Diversion, Meerscheidt Recreation Center, South Central Solid Waste Authority administrative offices, Foothills Landfill, and the Castaneda Parks and Recreation Administration Office.
City officials said league play at Meerscheidt Recreation Center will continue.
Several city services and facilities will remain open Monday.
Solid Waste commercial collections will run as normal on Memorial Day. Residential collections, including grappler service, also will run as normal.
The South Central Solid Waste Transfer Station, located at 2865 W. Amador Ave., will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for material drop-off. Doña Ana County collection sites and Corralitos Landfill also will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave., will offer fitness swim from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Two open swim sessions will be held from noon to 3 p.m. and from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The Las Cruces Natatorium, 1405 E. Hadley Ave., will be open from 6 to 11 a.m.
Outdoor swimming also will be available during Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day will be a free swim day at both outdoor pools.
East Mesa Bataan Memorial Pool, 6141 Reynolds Drive, will offer two open swim sessions from noon to 3 p.m. and from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Laabs Pool, 701 W. Picacho Ave., also will offer two open swim sessions from noon to 3 p.m. and from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
