LAS CRUCES – A highly anticipated concert featuring singer and rapper Post Malone and country and pop artist Jelly Roll scheduled for May 13 at the Sun Bowl in El Paso has been canceled, according to Ticketmaster and tour officials.
The El Paso performance was originally planned as the opening stop of Post Malone’s stadium tour, but organizers announced the cancellation along with several other shows across the country.
According to statements released by the artist, the decision was made to allow additional time to complete a new double album before beginning the tour schedule. Officials said the first leg of the tour will now start later than originally planned, with some dates expected to be rescheduled while others, including the El Paso show, were canceled outright.
Industry reports indicate multiple cities were affected by the change, including venues in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi. Concert promoters have confirmed that ticket holders for the canceled El Paso performance will receive full refunds through the original method of purchase.
While some fans have speculated about ticket demand, organizers have not cited ticket sales as a reason for the cancellation. Instead, the artist emphasized the need to finalize new music before launching the tour.
The Sun Bowl concert had been expected to draw fans from across West Texas and southern New Mexico.
