EL PASO – Downtown El Paso employees were celebrated with free food, frozen treats and an evening gathering during the 2026 Downtown Employee Appreciation Day held Thursday, September 17.
The El Paso Downtown Management District distributed 1,500 complimentary meals to employees who work throughout the Downtown area. An afternoon Ice Cream Social added 600 paletas and ice cream treats to the celebration.
Food for the event was purchased from 18 Downtown restaurants and businesses, allowing the event to support the local business community while recognizing the people who help keep Downtown El Paso operating each day.
The celebration continued at Rockstar Burger Bar with a Happy Hour gathering and Sally the Alligator’s second birthday celebration.
Downtown Employee Appreciation Day was presented by El Paso Electric. Additional support was provided by Franklin Mountain Property Services, WestStar, Paso del Norte Health Foundation, Helen of Troy, Raising Cane’s, Hunt, El Paso Community Foundation, Desert Spirit Spa and Jarritos.
