LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Motorists traveling through portions of Doña Ana County are being urged to use caution Wednesday morning as wet weather has resulted in flooding, standing water and difficult driving conditions on several roadways.
Transportation officials are reporting water running across portions of Interstate 25 and NM 273, while wet and potentially slick conditions are being reported in the Hatch area.
DOÑA ANA AREA: Flooding is creating difficult driving conditions on Interstate 25 between mile markers 8 and 9. Water is running over the roadway. Motorists should use extreme caution.
ANTHONY/SUNLAND PARK AREA: Difficult driving conditions are reported on NM 273, McNutt Road, between mile markers 10 and 13. Water is running over the roadway. Motorists should use extreme caution.
HATCH AREA: Difficult driving conditions are reported throughout the Hatch area. Roads are wet and may become slick, with standing water reported on roadways. Drivers should use extreme caution.
Motorists should never attempt to drive across a flooded roadway. If water is covering the road, drivers should seek an alternate route.
Turn around, don’t drown.
